We explored the effects of bovine lactoferrin (bLF) on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using an SKG mouse model, a genetic model for the disease. Our findings showed that orally administered liposomal bLF significantly reduced joint swelling and bone destruction in these mice.

We also noticed that bLF improved immune cell balance related to RA. In laboratory tests on human cells, bLF inhibited the production of a key inflammatory marker, TNF-α, by interrupting specific cell signaling pathways.

Overall, our research suggests bLF could be a promising option for managing RA progression, as it demonstrates both preventive and therapeutic potential.

Lactoferrin protects against AITD
We examined whether lactoferrin, a nutrient found in milk, could provide relief from autoimmune thyroiditis (AITD).

Our findings showed that lactoferrin significantly decreased oxidative stress and inflammation in the thyroid of rats affected by this condition.

Additionally, it helped reduce cell damage and apoptosis by inhibiting the mTOR signaling pathway.

Overall, lactoferrin shows promise as a nutritional approach to protect thyroid health in autoimmune disorders.

We explored the effectiveness of a unique treatment involving cerium oxide nanoparticles, enhanced with lactoferrin and chitosan, for managing autoimmune encephalomyelitis—a model for multiple sclerosis. This innovative delivery method showed promising results, including improved motor functions in treated rats and reduced damage to the brain and spinal cord.

However, while biochemical analyses indicated some positive changes, it's important to note that the study's overall benefits may still require further validation. The treatment demonstrates potential, yet is not a definitive solution for autoimmune disorders at this stage.

This is my second time taking it, and I ordered it for a third time. Over the past year, I've not been ill at all, while others around me suffered from covid. Despite being exposed, I did not get infected. My health is superb, and I have not developed any antibodies.

Lactoferrin is excellent for enhancing immunity and aiding iron absorption. It benefits those with iron deficiency and intestinal issues. I’ve ordered it multiple times, and it has proven effective in increasing iron stores for both myself and my daughter. I recommend pairing it with natural iron sources instead of oxidising iron supplements to prevent abdominal constipation!

This is a quality drug. I am ordering it for my sister who has iron deficiency anaemia for the second time. Under her doctor's guidance, she has been taking it for a month to avoid any interruption. Her health has significantly improved, her hair is no longer falling out, and her nails have become much stronger and less prone to splitting. There is no doubt about its benefits; we are pleased with it.

Lactoferrin enhances Treg cell response
We investigated the impact of combining lactoferrin with TGF-β1 and retinoic acid on the generation of important immune cells that help manage autoimmune responses.

Our findings revealed that while both lactoferrin and retinoic acid alone reduced the effectiveness of TGF-β1 at low signaling levels, they significantly enhanced TGF-β1’s ability to generate these immune cells at higher signaling intensities.

This combination treatment led to a robust production of Treg cells, possibly providing a promising strategy for controlling autoimmune diseases by reducing unwanted immune reactions.

We investigated the blood levels of lactoferrin and other key proteins in patients with Graves' disease (GD) to understand their involvement in autoimmune processes. The study included 50 GD patients and a control group, measuring various cytokines before and after treatment.

Results showed increased levels of lactoferrin and several cytokines during the disease, which decreased with treatment but some remained elevated even after long-term care. This points to lactoferrin's potential role in the dynamics of GD, though it may not be conclusive in managing the disorder.

Raised hemoglobin levels

I ordered it for my dad, whose hemoglobin levels dipped post-heart surgery. After experiencing constipation from regular iron supplements, we turned to iron and lactoferrin. Within a month, his hemoglobin rose from 90 to 130. We previously tried for three months with considerable expenses to elevate hemoglobin levels, and this combination restored his intestinal health following antibiotic treatment due to a COVID illness.

While suffering from chronic inflammation, I followed the advice of my acquainted doctor and tried it with prebiotics. After just over a month, my inflammation symptoms have significantly improved. I recommend finding the right lactobacillus for you and taking it together. It's strongly recommended, and I will continue using it!

Immune system boost

I took this as part of a regimen to enhance my gastrointestinal health. While I did not observe direct effects on my gut, it remarkably boosts and stimulates the immune system. Those with autoimmune manifestations might want to limit the dosage, as the supplement is potent; 1 capsule daily suffices. While it may not alone increase ferritin levels, it works effectively in combination with other treatments for better results.

Improved ferritin levels

I take this on the advice of a personal nutritionist. Thanks to this product and several others ordered from Iherb, my ferritin levels have risen from 20 to 56. This is a significant improvement. The brand is reputable, and the digestibility of the components is excellent. I recommend it, but it's advisable to undergo parasitic cleansing before starting and to monitor your nutrition for better absorption.

Successful treatment
This product is great for raising ferritin in children. After medical examinations revealed low ferritin levels, following my nutritionist's advice, I administered it together with protein. After 2 months of treatment, ferritin levels rose from 10 to 30 in both children. I believe this is an outstanding result. I will order more.

Lactoferrin is vital for innate immunity. It protects newborns and serves as a powerful antioxidant and immunomodulator. After taking it, I noticed a significant decrease in recurrent stomatitis, with quicker healing. Even previous phlegm build-up in my nasopharynx has improved. I finished one can and have ordered more!

Not suitable for me

I tried this to alleviate my anaemia, but it was not suitable for me, causing a tingling sensation in my larynx and dizziness. Upon further investigation, I discovered it contraindicates with autoimmune disorders and milk intolerance. As someone with gluten intolerance, I had this adverse reaction, suggesting lactoferrin may also not suit those with gluten sensitivities due to immune responses.

I bought this for myself and my daughter because of autoimmune atrophic gastritis, which severely hinders iron absorption. This supplement has proven to be a massive aid in our treatment.

This is a first-rate product. I am ordering it for my sister again, who has iron deficiency anaemia. She’s been following her doctor’s prescription for a month, and I made sure there were no interruptions in her treatment. Her health has greatly improved; her hair's shedding has stopped, and her nails are now stronger and less brittle. We certainly appreciate the benefits.

The drug successfully increased my ferritin alongside Solgar's iron; ferritin rose from >5.5 to 29.7, and my hemoglobin went from 120 to 143 after two months of use. For years, I struggled to elevate my iron and ferritin levels, but this really worked for me, elevating my counts significantly.
